WWE News: John Cena To Address Kevin Owens On Tonight’s ‘RAW’ — Will Owens Be At The Show?

John Cena’s U.S. open challenge has been the highlight of every week’s RAW since Cena won the United States Championship at WrestleMania. Every single week Cena makes someone new look good, and, even though he retains the U.S. Title, he always makes sure to make his opponent look strong. His matches with former NXT Champions Sami Zayn and Neville are a good example of Cena’s renewed focus, which is to help develop new top stars in WWE.

Last week’s John Cena U.S. open challenge was possibly the most entertaining one to date, and it didn’t even feature a United States Championship match, as Kevin Owens made his WWE RAW debut by taking out John Cena, and revealing that he’s going to be facing Cena for the United States Championship at this Sunday’s Elimination Chamber pay-per-view.

Owens’ debut has been getting rave reviews, and some people have even called it the best WWE debut since Chris Jericho made his WWE debut back in 1999.

Most people feel that Kevin Owens is more than ready to be on WWE’s main-roster, however, according to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer, Owens’ appearance on RAW wasn’t an official call-up, and him wrestling at the Elimination Chamber show will just be a one-time thing, as WWE doesn’t have any immediate plans to bring Owens up to the main-roster. In fact, the match with Cena will likely be used to build up a match with Samoa Joe, and it’s expected that Joe will interfere, and cost Owens the match.

We’re only six days away from WWE’s Elimination Chamber show, and WWE is teasing that John Cena will address Kevin Owens tonight on RAW. Owens is expected to be there, although there WWE hasn’t officially said that he will be.

As for the state of John Cena’s open challenge, it may not take place this week due to Cena’s possible involvement with Owens. However, if Owens doesn’t show up, then the U.S. open challenge will likely take place, but, as always, John Cena’s opponent is a mystery, but it’s possible that it could end up being another NXT wrestler, as WWE has liked the two times that Cena has gone face-to-face with the developmental brand’s top names. So, that could mean that guys like Finn Balor and Tyler Breeze will accept John Cena’s US open challenge at some point in the near future.
