Nicki Minaj’s Ex, Safaree Samuels, To Dish On His Relationship With The ‘Anaconda’ Rapper In His New Mix Tape?
Nicki Minaj is rumored to be engaged to rapper Meek Mill, while Minaj’s ex Safaree Samuels is making headlines for his longtime relationship with the “Anaconda” rapper.
Minaj and Samuels dated for nearly fourteen years according to the up-and-coming rapper, who reveals that Nicki ended things after she learned that he wanted to launch his own rap career years after serving as her personal hype man and assistant, TMZ reports.
Now that Minaj has moved on to Philly rapper Meek Mill, fans are curious to see whether or not Samuels, who is promoting his mix tape, It Is What It Is, will blast Minaj and Mill in his new music.
While attending the red carpet event for the taping of Versus & Flow, HipHollywood reveals that Samuels dished about what fans can expect from his upcoming music and comments on rumors that he’s planning a scathing diss track for Minaj.
“My music is different,” Safaree reassures fans, denying reports that he plans to dish on his longtime romance with Nicki. However, when asked how he felt about their breakup playing out publicly, the rapper insists, “it was great.”
Despite claims that Samuels is reeling from his split from Minaj, the rapper insists that he’s happy for Nicki and is feeling “free” knowing that she’s moved on.
The rapper tells VladTV that he didn’t mind seeing Nicki get close to Meek Mill or even previously rumored flame Drake, Mstars reports.
“I didn’t even know he did that. I look at that stuff as entertainment. I don’t take none of that to heart.”
As for his feelings about her engagement, Samuels says that he feels “free” from Nicki.
“It is what it is. If that’s who she chooses to be with it don’t have nothing to do with me. If I was a bitter jealous person and I was miserable in my life right now, it’ll be different, but mentally, I haven’t been this happy in God knows how long. I just feel free.”
Similarly, the “Paradise” rapper admits that he hasn’t even spoken to Nicki since the beginning of the year and doesn’t plan on ever speaking to her again in the future.
“She’s moved on, I’ve moved on. When people break up, it’s for a reason. It’s not a break.”
Currently, Minaj is busy promoting her hit new album, The Pinkprint, in addition to gearing up for the North American leg of her The Pinkprint Tour, where beau Meek Mill will be joining her.
Minaj recently dropped her exclusive music video for her track, “The Night Is Still Young,” via music streaming service Tidal, Entertainment Weekly confirms.
