15 Sets Of Twins To Graduate From Iowa School: Valley High Students Once Held Guinness Record

A West Des Moines, Iowa, school has a bittersweet moment: on the one hand, 15 sets of twins will graduate from Valley High School; on the other hand, teachers still have trouble telling them apart, citing an AOL news report.

If you’re one of many in the audience at Valley’s Sunday graduation ceremony for the Class of 2015, you may catch yourself doing a double-take on 15 different occasions. Chances are if you’re a resident of the city, you may have a friend, relative, or friend of a relative who knows one of the 15 sets of graduating twins.

It all began four years ago when the students were part of the Freshman class. One parent noticed that there were a large number of twins at the school. As a consequence, the idea was hatched to get an accurate count. Of the over 700 students, 16 were twins, as Emily Kacer, a Valley senior, explains.

“I think it was Kaylee and Kyle Olson’s parents who were just like, I see all of these twins in the hall so let’s see how many we actually have. They found out we have a ton.”

With that many sets of multiple births, the school reached a milestone: Valley won the Guinness World Record for the Most Twins in the Same Academic Year at One School. That record held for a year, but was soon overtaken by a fifth grade class in Illinois; there were 24 sets of twins there. Since then, that record has not been challenged.

Oh, by the way, the 15 sets of twins from Iowa are not the only famous college students to graduate, according to Inquisitr. This week, Actors Dylan and Cole Sprouse (Suite Life of Zack and Cody) took the grad walk at New York State University. And get this — the boys completed their studies with honors.

In case you’re wondering, the 15 sets of twins set to graduate are: Megan and Hannah Baysinger, Kaylee and Kyle Olson, Cole and Cory Mullins, Kayla and Lauren Phalen, Emily and Allison Kacer, Hanna and Julia Anderson, Jacob and Jeffrey Goetz, Joseph and Joshua McVey, Hannah and Noah Clark, Jade and Logan Davis, Quintin and Mason Barr, Roman and Giavanna Dean, Anna and Samuel Freihage, Cole and Logan Harvey and Hunter and Carson Feldman. Sources say Emma and Sara Goff relocated when there were 16 sets of twins.
