New Orleans Woman Finds Boyfriend With Another Woman In Home, Uses Baseball Bat To Attack

After finding her boyfriend with another woman in his home, a New Orleans woman took a baseball bat and began attacking him, his car, and his home. She now faces criminal charges, according to NOLA.

At approximately 9:30 p.m. Sunday, Officer Reginald Koeller III responded to a call about a domestic dispute at West Cavelier Drive. Upon his arrival, he witnessed 21-year-old Jaylen Griffith fleeing from the scene in her vehicle.

The officer drove after her and pulled her over at the intersection of West Cavelier Drive and Michoud Boulevard, where he discovered she was intoxicated.

Back at the house, Griffith’s 30-year-old boyfriend — whose name has not been released to the public — told police officers that when she discovered another woman in his home, she became irate and went to the trunk of her silver car and retrieved a baseball bat.

After making her way back in the home, she began swinging the baseball bat at him, as well as breaking some of the windows in the home and furniture. She also went back outside to destroy his car.

Griffith was arrested and charged with aggravated burglary and aggravated criminal damage to property. Griffith’s arrest report states that “all of the windows on the left side of the residence were broken,” and his car was damaged, as well.

Officer Koeller also included in the statement that as he walked into the home, he saw “a large amount of broken glass,” and blood smeared on the windows.

The boyfriend also told police officials that, although he managed to wrestle Griffith to the floor and retrieve the baseball bat, she started punching him with her fist, “striking him several times.” When asked about the other woman in the home, the boyfriend refused to give any information concerning her condition or whereabouts to reporters. The man suffered minor injuries, but he refused to seek medical treatment.

If the baseball bat attacker is found guilty of the charges, she could face up to 30 years in prison. She is currently being held with a $20,000 bond and will face the judge June 15.
