Ex-NFL Linebacker Adrian Robinson, 25, Dead Of An Apparent Suicide By Hanging, Medical Examiner Says

Former NFL lineman Adrian Robinson, 25, of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania — who was recently signed to Canadian’s Hamilton Tiger-Cats — was pronounced dead Sunday, but the exact cause of death was unknown until a medical examiner confirmed that he died of an apparent suicide by hanging, according to Us Magazine.

The lineman’s tragic news was announced via Facebook by his agency, Symmetry, which stated as follows.

“It deeply saddens all of us to share with you that Adrian Robinson Jr. passed away last night at the age of 25.

“Adrian was a beloved father, son, brother, friend and teammate. We ask that you please respect his family’s privacy during this difficult time, and especially keep his daughter Avery Marie in your prayers. Thank you for all of your support and consideration.”

Robinson — who was a Temple University graduate — was discovered on Saturday, but further information surrounding his death has yet to be released to the public.

“The Temple football program lost a friend, a brother, and a wonderful young man today,” Temple head coach Matt Rhule said after learning of Robinson’s death.

“Adrian Robinson was one of the greatest competitors I ever had the pleasure of coaching and I know he was an even better teammate. I first met Adrian as an 18-year-old high school senior. I was so proud to see him back at Temple this spring finishing his degree and being a loving father to his new daughter.

“He will always be a part of me and will always be a part of this program. Our hearts and thoughts go out to the Robinson family — his parents Terry and Adrian Sr., brother Averee and sister Aija, and his daughter Avery Marie.”

“The entire Temple University community is mourning the tragic passing of one of our former all-time great football players, Adrian Robinson,” said athletic director Kevin Clark. “Our thoughts and prayers are with his family at this incredibly tough time.”

Robinson was a former linebacker for various teams since 2011, such as Pittsburgh Steelers, Philadelphia Eagles, Denver Broncos, etc. His last game was in 2013 with the Washington Redskins.

Last month, he signed a contract with the Canadian’s Hamilton Tiger-Cats.

There have been a slew of reports claiming that Robinson was gunned down, but those reports are inaccurate. TMZ Sports was one of the sources to report the false information as they were told by a representative that Robinson was “killed in a shooting.”

However, they quickly updated their information once Philadelphia medical examiner Jeff Morgan confirmed that Robinson had committed suicide by hanging.

This is a developing story.
