With all of the hype and hoopla over John Cena squatting 600 pounds, the WWE star wanted to set the record straight and so he posted on Facebook.

John Cena squat

———–

Yes, John Cena posted a video online that showed a mere 30 seconds from one of his workouts. In it, he’s merely got the bar on his shoulders and is performing a basic squat, but he’s doing with 600 pounds of weight resting on him.

Bleacher Report made it necessary to point out that Cena’s squat of 600 pounds is more than Big Show. At WrestleMania XXV, Cena put Big Show up on his shoulders and delivered his Attitude Adjustment finishing maneuver.

The slow-motion clip shows only 30 seconds of Cena’s workout in the weight room, but it is a true sign of just how much strength the man has in his body. Even though booed by half of the WWE Universe, it should come as no surprise that the company has so much faith in the draw of the 38-year-old.

Fan Sided also breaks down Cena’s squat a bit more and makes some great points as well.

Sure, this isn’t the record for a squat or anything and some big 300-400 pound guys have been known to do it daily. John Cena is just 250 pounds and the video shows him not even shaking or quivering when he stands back up.

Cena also heads entirely down to the floor for a full, complete squat. The guy is not falsely enhanced and isn’t a genetic monster, but he is just freakishly strong and it shows that he takes pride in his craft.

john cena payback rusev

This Sunday at Payback, John Cena will take on Rusev in another match between the two for the United States championship. Cena has gotten the best of the big Russian for am few events now, but it will take more than strength to get the victory in the “I Quit” match.

It really should come as no surprise that John Cena is one of the strongest guys in all of WWE, and the 600-pound squat proves it. Still, he goes out there, does his job, and takes each day as it comes…no matter how some of the fans treat him.
