Angry Husband Shoots Man For Facebook Messaging And Texting His Wife

Christopher Romoleroux, 22, discovered that his wife, Ludwika Duarte, was messaging a man through Facebook. And he wasn’t going to take it lying down. Clarence Autley had received a Facebook message from Duarte. Duarte and Autley had been friends who lost touch with each other. The two exchanged phone numbers and started texting each other. They hadn’t seen each other in six years. In the age of social media, this seems pretty routine. Unless you throw into the mix an apparently very jealous husband. Because, when Romoleroux found out, he supposedly used his wife’s phone to trick Autley, texting him to meet, according to the Examiner. Autley, thinking it was Duarte texting him, agreed to meet.

But what happened next wasn’t routine. Romoleroux then reportedly drove to Autley’s house and argued with him. Romoleroux stated the following after exiting his silver four-door car, according to the Sun Sentinel.

“Why you trying to get with my woman?”

He then punched Autley in the face, and the two had a scuffle. Romoleroux then grabbed a small pistol from his car and shot Autley in the left leg. Not your normal social media connection, thankfully.

Autley identified Duarte by her driver’s license and a Facebook photo. Autley was taken to Memorial Regional Hospital in Hollywood for the gunshot wound, three breaks to his femur, and he had a bloody lip.

Romoleroux, who has been married to Duarte for three years, was arrested and charged with attempted second-degree murder. Broward Judge John “Jay” Hurley originally set the bond for the attempted murder charge at $30,000. However, the judge revoked Romoleroux’s bond on two separate felony cases. Hurley also ordered Romoleroux to have no contact with Autley.

Romoleroux’s lawyer, Lody Jean, indicated that the evidence doesn’t call for an attempted second-degree murder charge, stating the following in the Sun Sentinel.

“The injury is to the leg. If somebody really wants to kill someone, they’re going to aim somewhere else, not the leg. I’m not minimizing it, but it’s not life-threatening.”

Romoleroux has quite a police record. He has seven previous arrests in Florida on charges including battery, burglary, and drug possession, and he will remain jailed pending trial.

Another man who has allegedly committed an even more unusual crime is Philip Lyle Hansen, 56. He has pleaded not guilty to 11 charges linked to similar attacks on four different women, in which it was alleged that he attempted to or did pull women’s teeth out with pliers while having sex in the back seat of his car, according to an article in the Inquisitr.
