Janet Jackson: New Album Anticipation Continues To Grow

Janet Jackson is scheduled to release a new album this summer. According to a report by Stereogum, Janet's new album might not be released through Atlantic Record.

In addition, Gigwise reports most major music stores have confirmed Janet Jackson's untitled album is due July 7 and will be available for pre-order, as well.

Stereogum said they called the Ridgewood FYI store and "they confirmed that if you go to the store you can pre-order a new album from Janet Jackson."

Stereogum also added an update in their report saying, "Sia' manager also tweeted excitedly this morning about reliable sources confirming to him that the rumors of a new album from Jackson are true."

However, Stereogum claims the release schedule photo is a fake.
"The photo is almost definitely a fake, done by someone who has very little knowledge of the winding path through country music record labels."
Stereogum also suggested that Ms. Jackson is probably not going to release a new album under Atlantic Records' label.

On the other hand, Fact also reported Janet Jackson will be releasing a new album later this year, but the release will be distributed through Atlantic Records.

In addition, Chicago Defender recently reported Janet has joined Atlantic Records and according to their report, the long-rumored album is scheduled to be released July 10.

Furthermore, if Janet releases an album this year, no one has any information whether she will record a compilation of greatest hits, or whether the album will contain original material.

Island Records released Janet's last album titled Discipline on February 26, 2008.

Nonetheless, most sources agree that the long-awaited album by Janet Jackson will be available to her fans later this year.

It's still unclear what record distributer is going to be involved in the actual release. The actual release date is also in question.

Time will tell whether Janet Jackson will actually embrace her fans with a new album this summer. Most sources agree that a Janet Jackson album will be in record stores later this year.
