New ‘Walking Dead’ Season 6 Spoilers Surface Along With A Walking Dead Spinoff

Fans of The Walking Dead received a shock during Season 5 with the departure of characters like Beth, Tyrese, Noah, and Bob. Team Rick moved on to Alexandria, Virginia, after Eugene revealed he wasn’t really a scientist and didn’t have a cure for the disease that turns every person who dies into a walker.

They found their way to Alexandria after being recruited by Aaron. It looked like the group would quickly depart Alexandria, but the death of town leader Reg at the end of Season 5 ensured that Rick and his crew would be in Alexandria a little longer.

Spoilers for The Walking Dead Season 6 reveal that the threat against the group will once again change, according to a note written by showrunner Scott Gimple.

“Season 6 for a good while now, humans have been the bigger threat. At the start of our next season, that will change. I said the show reinvents itself every 8 eps, and we’re doing it again, friendos. Now that these characters know they have what it takes to survive, what are they going to do with that power? How will they choose to live? Beyond answering those questions, we’re currently putting into motion some of our most ambitious stuff yet, and things are going to get very big, loud, and scary.”

Viewers can expect to see the return of many of the same writers and directors from Season 5. Robert Kirkman spoke with AMC President Charlie Collier and Steven Yeun, who plays Glen, at the 2015 National Association of Broadcasters Show. They discussed the possibility that Glen will die in Season 6. The villains for this season are the Wolves, and there is speculation that Jon Hamm of Mad Men will be cast as Negan, one of the biggest bad guys in the graphic novels.

The Walking Dead introduced a new character this season who quickly became a hit with fans, Aaron (Ross Marquand). Although Aaron doesn’t have a big role in the comic books, his romantic relationship with Eric, as well as his recruiting efforts with Daryl, make him an interesting character to watch. Season 5 also saw the return of Morgan (Lennie James), who appeared in Season 1 and then again in Season 3.

According to the comics, the walls of Alexandria crumble and Aaron and Eric end up fighting alongside Rick and his crew to get rid of the walkers who have invaded. With supplies in the area picked clean, their efforts to find supplies becomes more dangerous as they must venture further outside the walls to find what they need, according to Undead Walking.

The Walking Dead also introduced its first spinoff called Fear the Walking Dead. It takes place in Los Angeles, and the characters revolve more around families. The new series promises that the characters will be far more deadly than those in the original series. A prequel to the original Walking Dead, it will not reveal the cause of the deadly virus that turns everyone into zombies at death, reports the International Business Times.
