Niall Horan, a member of the superstar boy band One Direction, hasn’t said much about Zayn Malik’s abrupt departure that left millions of fans in shock. Recently, however, Horan finally opened up and gave a tidbit of information during an interview on an ITV show.
Although Horan didn’t give too many details on how he felt about Zayn leaving the band, he did indicate that everything is fine, and that he and the remaining One Direction members have been busy working on their new album.
“All good. We are just in the studio at the minute writing for the next album.”
It’s not surprising to fans that Horan decided to stay mostly mum on the issue, as he has never been one for controversy. In fact, last year when he was rumored to be gay after allegedly kissing another man at a party, he took it in stride and claimed that the entire issue was hilarious.
Band mate Louis Tomlinson, however, doesn’t seem to be taking Malik’s departure too lightly, as seen in a recent Twitter spat with Naughty Boy, a music producer who claims to be working with Malik on a new solo album. After Tomlinson taunted Naughty Boy, Malik shocked fans by taking the producer’s side over Tomlinson, his band mate and friend for the past five years.
Unfortunately, thing didn’t go well for Malik, and although he deleted his tweet that told Tomlinson to basically stay out of his business, his loyalty to Naughty Boy resulted in the loss of thousands of follower on Twitter.
Don't know why I'm being attacked for defending myself , people got it twisted! I love my fans ?! Every single one of you x— zaynmalik (@zaynmalik) May 7, 2015
Horan’s reply to Zayn’s departure will air on ITV’s Play To The Whistle on May 9. Fans can also see the 22-year-old embark on numerous challenges as part of Frank Lambert’s team.
Meanwhile, One Direction are slated to attend the 2015 Billboard Music Awards, which airs live on ABC, on May 17. The band’s appearance marks the first award show appearance and red carpet event without Malik. The foursome will also appear on CBS’ The Late Late Show With James Corden. Liam Payne indicated that fans are in for a few surprises.
“James is one of our best mates and we’re so proud of the massive success his show is having in America. We are currently working on a few surprises with James and his team that we hope our fans will enjoy. It’s going to be a great night!”
To see what Niall Horan and the rest of the guys have in store for the fans, tune in to The Late Late Show With James Corden on May 14, at 12:35 a.m., ET.
