Peyton Manning Decides On Denver Broncos

The saga of Peyton Manning may be over. The former Colts quarterback has spent the last week visiting teams like the Miami Dolphins, the San Francisco 49ers, and the Tennessee Titans, and according to Chris Mortensen of ESPN, Peyton has now made his decision. Peyton Manning will be playing for the Denver Broncos in 2012.

Mortensen reports that Manning has told his agent Tom Condon to wrap up negotiations with the Denver Broncos. The contract is rumored to be a 5-year $90 million contract.

After Manning’s meeting with the Broncos on Friday, John Elway wrote on Twitter:

“We enjoyed visiting with Peyton today in N.C. He threw the ball great and looked very comfortable out there. Watching him throw today was the next step in this important process for our team and Peyton. It was a productive visit and went well.”

According to USA Today, Manning was on the phone this morning with the various teams that he has talked to in the last week. Manning called the 49ers and the Titans to inform them that he would be playing in Denver next year. Manning is expected to fly to Denver once the contract is complete for a news conference where he will be officially introduced as the Broncos new starting quarterback.

ESPN reports that the Broncos are also looking to sign Colts center Jeff Saturday, who was been Manning’s center for 12 years. The Broncos are also expected to trade Tim Tebow now that Manning is on the roster.
