‘Phineas And Ferb’ To End In June With Finale, Creator’s Land New Show On Disney XD

Disney’s Phineas and Ferb is coming to an end, with a finale set to air on June 12.

The show’s creators, Dan Povenmire and Jeff “Swampy” Marsh, have wrapped production on the Emmy award-winning animated series, and have landed a new show called Mikey Murphy’s Law.

The show will end on June 12 after 126 episodes, five one-hour specials, and a popular Disney Channel Original Movie, according to UPI. The show will, however, continue to air reruns on Disney XD and other Disney Channels around the world.

According to Entertainment Weekly, there will be a “73-hour marathon of Phineas and Ferb beginning Tuesday, June 9 at 8 p.m. ET, with the finale episode, ‘Last Day of Summer,’ airing Friday, June 12 at 9 p.m. ET on both Disney XD and Disney Channel.”

Povenmire and Marsh will soon begin production on Mikey Murphy’s Law which follows Mikey, the fictional great-great-great-great grandson of the Murphy’s Law namesake. It is slated to premiere on Disney XD in 2017.

“Dan and Swampy are two of the most respected and proven show creators in the animation series business,” Marc Buhaj, senior vice president of programming at Disney XD, said in a statement. “They are incredibly gifted storytellers who have a track record of creating smart, original and relatable characters that are universally appealing to both kids and families. It’s a coup for Disney XD to continue working with this talented duo on their latest creation ‘Mikey Murphy’s Law.’ We’re looking forward to another great creative partnership.”

Dan and Swampy will be joined by several of their Phineas and Ferb colleagues, including producer and director Robert F. Hughes, story editor Scott Peterson and staff writers Joshua Pruett, Dani Vetere, and Martin Olson.
