Floyd Mayweather’s Children’s Mother Allegedly Filed Lawsuit Against The Boxer For $20 Million For Defamation Of Character
Floyd Mayweather won the “Fight of the Century” against Manny Pacquiao Saturday, and he walked away with a big payday. Within days of Mayweather’s big win, the mother of three of his children has allegedly filed a lawsuit against him. She is asking for at least $20 million because she claimed he ruined her life, according to TMZ Sports.
Josie Harris said Mayweather “lied through his teeth” in an interview with Katie Couric just two weeks before the fight. Harris denied what Mayweather said about her being in a drug-fueled rage, and the boxer had to restrain her during the domestic violence incident that received national attention in 2010.
Harris’ lawyer, Dan Friedlander, writes in the lawsuit that Mayweather said what he did to make himself look good just before the fight.
“Floyd’s lies to Couric were knowingly fabricated in order to hype Mayweather’s upcoming fight with Pacquiao, to avoid bad press by deflecting responsibility for beating the mother of his children.”
Mayweather was convicted of domestic violence and spent two months in jail. While he had gone on to stardom, Josie said she is the one who has been made to look bad.
According to New York Daily News, Josie Harris filed a lawsuit against the boxing champion for defamation of character in connection with the Katie Couric interview.

The irony of the domestic violence that landed Mayweather in jail is that the two of them were not even seeing each other at the time. Josie said they had broken up when Floyd flew into a jealous rage one night. He broke into her house and attacked her while she was sleeping on the couch. He beat her in front of her children and threatened to kill her. She was hospitalized for injuries to her face and arm.
Harris says she is now labeled a drug addict thanks to Mayweather’s lies. She claims she has been embarrassed and humiliated on a global scale.
Back in 2012, she said she had forgiven Mayweather, and they had put their fighting days behind them so they can raise their three children peacefully.
People on social media are questioning the timing of the lawsuit. They point out that Harris only wants some of the money Mayweather earned from the fight. But then when you think about timing, she did wait until after the fight was over instead of filing right after the Katie Couric interview and just before the fight.
