WWE News: Rusev Loses Clean At Live Events, Is His Big Push Over?

When Rusev debuted on the WWE’s main roster at the Royal Rumble 2014, many WWE fans knew what they were getting with the Bulgarian Brute. He didn’t lose a match for over a year. The only man to pin Rusev on WWE television was John Cena, and that came at WrestleMania 31. It was a predictable finish, due to Cena’s quest to become the next United States champion.

Speaking of the current United States champion, WWE analysts are calling for him to lose at Payback in a few weeks. However, Rusev is going to go down to the mid-card when his feud with Cena is over. If the WWE Creative members don’t believe, that result is inevitable.

Now, despite the losing streak Rusev is currently in, one good match with John Cena and the WWE’s latest U.S. champ can get him back in the swing of things. With Cena’s “U.S. Open Challenge” continuing for the next few months, Rusev will likely take the loss in this scenario. That said, what’s next for the Bulgarian Brute?

According to Daily Wrestling News, Rusev’s recent losses at WWE live events don’t spell a good future for the former U.S. champion.

“It’s worth noting that Rusev suffered clean losses to Ryback at this weekend’s WWE live events. Before Rusev began the feud with John Cena, his singles matches at live events were always won or if he did lose, it was by DQ or the loss came in a tag match.”

Like the report mentioned, Rusev didn’t lose cleanly, especially at WWE live events. The whole gimmick was for Rusev to look overpowering and stronger than every opponent. This isn’t the only bad news for Rusev. In an earlier article on the Inquisitr, Lana is being geared to lead the Divas’s division and to become the “face of the Diva’s division.”

It makes perfect sense for Lana to be a face of the WWE because of her look and charisma. Despite her great heel personality, the WWE fans still cheered for her when she came out with Rusev. When Lana didn’t accompany Rusev to the ring, the WWE fans let them have it. All they wanted to see was Lana because they knew Rusev was going to squash his opponent.

How long will it take for Rusev to fall into the mid-card? After Payback, the decline of his popularity will fall to the depths of the mid-card. John Cena isn’t burying him, which is what some WWE fans choose to believe. When he suffered his first loss, that’s when reality started to set in for Rusev. After Lana splits and Cena wins at Payback, say goodbye to Rusev for the foreseeable future.
