WWE News: The Undertaker’s Contract Set To Expire Soon, Have We Seen His Last Match Already?

WWE legend The Undertaker has been with WWE for over two decades. He has been terrific to watch for so long. He’s faced the best of the best and beaten everyone there is to beat. He’s one of the few legends left standing after so long, still in WWE today. Taker has done it all, but every man has to call it quits one day.

He’s won almost every title, has been featured in several WrestleMania main events, and he has faced the best wrestlers to ever step foot in a WWE ring. He has done everything one can do, except retire.

Many do not want to see The Deadman go, as many of us are under the impression as fans that he can’t die and will wrestle at WrestleMania every year until we’re all dead and gone. Sadly, Undertaker is as human as everyone else and he too gets older and has to know when the time has come to stop.

When will that be?

According to The Wrestling Observer, Undertaker’s contract is set to expire very soon. It is assumed that he will sign a new deal for at least another year that will be much higher than the average legend’s contract that people in his position would normally sign.

It is unknown whether or not he will wrestle again, as many were under the impression that Bray Wyatt was his last opponent. However, Undertaker never called his match with Wyatt his last. WWE did not call it the last one either. Despite this, speculation is that he wrestled his last match. Don’t tell this to WWE Chairman and CEO Vince McMahon though.

McMahon wants Undertaker to wrestle at least one more time, at WrestleMania 32 in Arlington, Texas. Undertaker is from Texas, so this would not be a crazy thought. The idea is that next year’s WrestleMania would be the swan song for Taker and he wouldn’t come back each year after that. There is even a rumor that Taker could enter the WWE Hall of Fame next year, despite potentially wrestling the next night.

Sting still wants The Undertaker, and that very well could be who WWE goes with. Both men live in Texas, so they’d be able to work a lot on the match heading into WrestleMania 32 next year. While many feel that the match would be years too late, other fans do not care and still want it if WWE will be willing to let it happen. Sting is going to most likely wrestle next year, regardless of his opponent. The same can probably be said with The Undertaker. So putting the two together to sort of retire them both would be ideal for many fans.

While The Undertaker very well could have already had his last match at WrestleMania 31, we can probably bet a high amount that he’ll be part of WrestleMania 32. Vince McMahon would be able to buy that bit of time from The Deadman. In a world where money helps to make the world work, any bit helps. Undertaker probably wouldn’t walk away from what Vince would offer. Plus, if he feels healthy enough to be there he would want to be there for the fans anyway. So we can expect The Phenom to be back for at least one more year.
