Bruce Jenner Sued For Wrongful Death Of Kim Howe
Bruce Jenner is being sued for the wrongful death of Kim Howe who recently died in a Malibu car crash. The lawsuit filed by two adult stepchildren of Kim Howe claims Bruce Jenner was “careless and negligent” when he crashed his Cadillac Escalade into another vehicle, which slammed into Kim’s Lexus on Pacific Coast Highway on February 7.
The crash resulted in Howe’s car colliding into oncoming traffic and smashing head-on into a Hummer.
TMZ reported that law enforcement sources blame 65-year-old Jenner for being inattentive and responsible for the car crash. Sources claim Bruce wasn’t paying attention and didn’t see the Lexus in front of him.
The lawsuit against Jenner also claims he was speeding at the time of the crash. However, earlier reports by law enforcement officials to TMZ stated Jenner was driving below the speed limit.
Earlier coverage of this tragic story by TMZ cited neither of the two stepchildren who filed the lawsuit against the former Olympic Gold Medalist is directly related to Kim Howe. They also don’t live in California.
Kim’s husband died in 2003 and her parents are deceased, as well. The 69-year-old widow didn’t have any other blood relatives either. Nonetheless, the two stepchildren have the legal right to file a lawsuit and collect damages.
The L.A. County Sheriff’s Department is sending a file to the L.A. District Attorney for possible prosecution. However, an investigation is still taking place. In addition, TMZ reports their sources don’t think the prosecutor will file any charges.
On Feb. 7, a video taken by cameras at a nearby gas station and on a MTV bus showed how Jenner caused a crash that resulted in the death of Kim Howe. It appears as though Jenner saw slow moving traffic in front of him and steered his Cadillac Escalade in trying to avoid the traffic jam.
FOX News reports that Jenner was also hauling an off road vehicle on a trailer behind his vehicle when he rear-ended a Prius. The driver of the Prius lost control and collided with Kim Howe’s Lexus, propelling her into oncoming traffic.
Kim Howe hit a Hummer head-on and tragically died due to injuries from the tragic accident.
Investigators retrieved cell phone records to see if anyone was using their cell phones at the time of the crash. The video shows Bruce Jenner was not using his cell phone immediately prior to the accident.
