WWE News: WWE Dropping Hints On Who Wrestling Legend Sting Will Face Next In New Storyline
Pro-Wrestling legend and icon Sting had his first and only match in WWE against Triple H at WrestleMania 31. It was a fun match where both men did great. While many were not happy with the ending, Sting still had a match in WWE. That alone is a big deal for fans to take in. Sting wants to do more with WWE if the company wants him back. Fans of course want The Stinger back in WWE, so will the company feel the same? For some time, we didn’t know. Now, we may have a clue.
WWE recently did a poll on WWE where they asked fans who they wanted to see Sting face off with next. The choices are Triple H in a rematch, The Rock, The Undertaker, Seth Rollins, Brock Lesnar, Bray Wyatt, or another WWE superstar.
The Undertaker is currently leading by 59 percent, while Triple H follows with the next highest at 15 percent. Seth Rollins has 7 percent and Brock Lesnar has 6 percent. Rock rounds out the list with 5 percent.
Obviously, this proves fans really want The Undertaker/Sting, but will WWE end up giving it to the WWE Universe? That is up in the air, although it has been rumored. The one thing that stands out over anything else is that although fans want The Undertaker vs Sting, there is some hesitation among fans to see it. Taker and Sting are both older now. Seeing such a match is big, but would it be as good as we would want it to be? That is uncertain.
The storyline leading up to the match would be good regardless of age, this much is clear. However, what makes this match unique is that two icons with similar characters would go at it. So, who would have the edge in the end? Sting has lost his first and only match in WWE so far, and we know if he faced Undertaker he’d certainly not come out the victor. So does WWE have Sting do yet another match with fans knowing the outcome before it even starts?
Before “The Streak” ended, clearly Sting and Taker would have had significance. You could believe that Taker could lose to Sting. Sadly, now that Taker has lost and there is no such streak left, it does diminish things. Despite this, even with the streak over WWE would never have Taker lose yet again in his WWE career. Fans would riot over such an action.
That being said, to avoid any issue, WWE might have both men facing off with different opponents just to give them each a win on the grandest stage of them all at WrestleMania 32. For now, we at least know WWE is dropping hints that they want to bring Sting back. This much is great to see. However, what opponent will WWE go with in the end? We will have to wait to find out.
