Jessa Duggar’s Twin Tease: ’19 Kids’ Star Drops Her Multiples Act
When Jessa Duggar announced her pregnancy, the 19 Kids and Counting star tried to drum up even more excitement for her big baby news by teasing that she might be pregnant with twins. However, she recently dropped a few hints that she and Ben Seewald are actually having just one child.
As the Inquisitr previously reported, Jessa Duggar and Ben Seewald talked about potentially making smoothies for “more than one” baby in their baby announcement video. And while talking about whether they’re having a boy or girl, Ben stated that “it could be both.”
Maybe Jessa and Ben were just trying to embellish their announcement with the twin teasers because they felt like they needed to compete with Jill Duggar actually giving birth to baby Israel. Jill was the first Duggar daughter to welcome a child, so the only way Jessa could top her sister is by giving birth to more than one baby.
However, ever since making her pregnancy announcement video, Jessa has been referring to “Baby Seewald” as a singular being. Jessa Duggar recently shared the Instagram post below letting her fans know just how big her fetus currently is. In the photo’s caption, she only refers to one “little person.”
Jessa Duggar also said that she was “eating for two,” not three, while she chatted with PEOPLE about her pregnancy diet.
“I want to gain a little less weight and not stress out about it. I do want to make sure that I’m eating healthy. You are eating for two but the other is, like, a speck. I am trying to make healthy choices now that I’m entering my second trimester.”
Jessa might not be having multiples, but twins aren’t uncommon in the Duggar family. Jessa’s mother had two sets of twins: John David and Jana, and Jedidiah and Jeremiah.
Jessa Duggar is far enough along that she knows whether or not she’s having twins, but she doesn’t know the sex of her baby just yet. According to Radar Online, Jessa revealed that she and Ben Seewald will find out whether they’re having a boy or girl next month. However, she and Ben might decide to keep the sex of the baby secret instead of having a gender reveal party like Jill did after finding out Israel’s sex.
It might be a good thing that Jessa is only having one baby — she’s hardly mastered the art of being a housewife, and she’s about to become a mother. According to the Daily Mail, the latest episode of 19 Kids and Counting provided a little proof that Jessa’s homemaking skills need a little polishing. She revealed that she usually doesn’t preheat the oven before she starts cooking, but she decided to try to do things right for her first home-cooked meal as a wife. Unfortunately, Jessa accidentally ended up cooking the oven manual because she forgot to take the book out of the appliance. She also had to use one of Ben’s hammers to beat the meat because she didn’t have “a meat pounder thing.”
Jessa might be on her own when it comes to cooking, but after she gives birth, she can always enlist the aid of her mother’s little helper. As the Inquisitr previously reported, Michelle Duggar has already offered up Jessa’s older sister Jana as a babysitter for Jill’s infant son. Surely Michelle won’t mind lending “Cinderella Duggar” to Jessa, too.
