‘DWTS’: Bruce Willis Is ‘A Silly Guy’ While Visiting During Daughter Rumer’s Dance Rehearsals

It’s difficult to think of John McClane as a “silly guy,” but according to Bruce Willis’ oldest daughter Rumer, he’s silly when he visits her during her Dancing with the Stars rehearsals.

Rumer has been sweeping the floor with her fantastic dance moves, and she’s a favorite to win, but even early on in the process, her famous dad Bruce and mom Demi were there to cheer her on.

Rumer, 26, spoke to Us magazine about her silly dad and how it is to have him support her, especially when she doesn’t get to see him all the time due to his busy schedule.

“It was really fun, honestly! He’s such a silly guy and to be able to have him come in when I don’t get to see him that often, come in and see what we do and see the whole process of how it all comes together and see how hard I work and what we do every week is very cool.”

She continued, “Most people, you know, only get to see a minute and thirty seconds of an entire week of five or six hour-a-day of rehearsal and we work really hard. To have him look at me and say, ‘Wow, I am so impressed by the amount of work that you are putting in,’ is very validating.”

Although Bruce has supported his daughter, his appearance on Dancing with the Stars has also brought some comic relief as well as some comfort. Back in March, Rumer mocked her dad’s emotional response to watching her dance. At the time, Bruce was captured looking very stoic after Rumer’s performance. In a pre-packaged video, Rumer imitated her father’s “emotional look” for the cameras during a rehearsal break with dance partner Val Chmerkovskiy.

Back when her journey on the show first began, Rumer told Good Morning America, “I don’t feel we have a lot of competition. I’m really confident. I think that the heart that both of us have and will put into each dance, regardless of the scores — to me, at least — was most important.”
