Cricket fans can watch live online as Pakistan faces Bangladesh in the first Test Match of the current Pakistan tour, as the visitors seek redemption after opening the tour with three straight losses in One Day International matches, followed by a drubbing in the only T20 match between the two. But the Test format, Pakistan players say, is a whole different game — one that they believe they should win.
To watch the Pakistan vs. Bangladesh First Test Day One live online, see the information at the bottom of this article. Play on Day One starts at 10 a.m. Bangladesh Standard Time Tuesday — which is midnight Monday night United States Eastern Time, 9 p.m. Monday Pacific. The First Test will be played at Sheikh Abu Naser Stadium in Khulna.
"Test is entirely different from ODI and T20 and I am pretty much confident that our team will do better than what they have done so far," Pakistan's left-handed batsman Sami Aslam told the Bangladesh press after a four-hour training session Sunday. "We are number four in this format and we have a strategy, and having Misbah [ul Haq] and Younis [Khan] in the side, we make a good team to win the series."
Aslam was referring to Pakistan's world ranking in Test cricket — which stands at fourth compared to just ninth for Bangladesh.
The two cricketing nations have played eight Test matches in their history — all eight won outright by Pakistan. But Pakistan had lost to Bangladesh only once in 47 matches across all formats coming into the 2015 tour — and have now lost four matches in a row.
While Pakistan has taken a beating not only on the field, but in the press back home — one scribe deemed the four-match losing streak "the lowest point in our international history" — as well as from cricket officials in Pakistan, the Bangladesh players have been showered with celebratory gifts from their own government.
Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina announced Sunday that the team would receive a bonus of 10 million Bangladesh taka — about $130,000 in United States cash — for their wins over Pakistan. And that's not all — the players would be gifted new cars and housing as a reward for their victories.
