Chris Martin and Gwyneth Paltrow are making their divorce official, and rumors indicate that the Coldplay frontman is already moving on with his new love interest.
Paltrow filed divorce papers on Monday after a year of “conscious uncoupling,” officially ending the marriage. Reports claim that Chris pushed to officially end the marriage so that he can move forward with girlfriend Jennifer Lawrence, who sources say was not happy that Chris Martin and Gwyneth Paltrow were not taking steps to finalize their split.
As Celeb Dirty Laundry reported, Chris Martin may now be planning on proposing to Jennifer.
“After months of J-Law threatening to dump him, Chris Martin finally took the plunge and officially divorced his wife Gwyneth – and sources say he did it all for his girlfriend Jennifer Lawrence, who he now plans to propose to. Chris is very serious about Jennifer Lawrence, but he wasn’t necessarily rushing to divorce Gwyn until he realized that he really was going to lose the Hunger Games star if he didn’t.”
While Chris Martin and Gwyneth Paltrow haven’t said much about their split, court documents obtained by People magazine shows that the couple has actually been separated for much longer than either of them had let on. The report claimed that Gwyneth filed a petition for divorce on Monday, listing their date of separation as May 6, 2013.
If true, that means the couple split up almost a full year before announcing it to the world. It was in March of last year that Chris Martin and Gwyneth Paltrow made the now-famous announcement that they were “consciously uncoupling.”
Paltrow later said she regretted using the term.
“I made a mistake in that I didn’t give it context. Like, I didn’t say, ‘This is… a philosophy,’ ” she told Howard Stern on his radio show. “But it’s a very noble idea, and it’s a great thing, I think, to try to do for your kids. And it’s working, but it is kind of a goofy term and I didn’t know it was going to cause such a big thing.”
The couple has two children together, 10-year-old Apple and 9-year-old Moses. Gwyneth is seeking joint custody.
With their divorce becoming official, it seems that both Chris Martin and Gwyneth Paltrow are ready to move on. While rumors indicate that Chris and Jennifer Lawrence are getting serious, Gwyneth has also been moving forward in her relationship with Glee producer Brad Falchuk.
