Paralyzed Patient Walks: Texas Teen Surprises Favorite Nurse, Walks After 11 Days Of Paralysis [Video]
A paralyzed patient walks toward her nurse, stunning her, and the story (which has since gone viral) is simply amazing.
According to AOL, Bailey Murrill suddenly became paralyzed from the waist down and remained that way for 11 days, and no one could figure out what happened. Without any feeling in her legs or feet, Murrill was bound to a wheelchair for several days, not knowing if she would ever be able to walk again. During her time in the hospital, Bailey formed a bond with one of her nurses, which isn’t uncommon for patients.
One day, Bailey regained the feeling in her lower body, and she was able to stand up and walk. The Texas teen decided that she wanted to surprise her favorite nurse with the news, and her mom took a video of the special moment.
In the video, the paralyzed patient walks directly toward the nurse, getting up from her wheelchair with ease. The nurse screamed with joy and took her patient into her arms for a big hug.
“Yes! Thank you, Lord! Oh, I’ve been praying for you,” said the nurse, clearly emotional. The two ladies stood in the hallway locked in an embrace for several seconds. The nurse was simply overjoyed and couldn’t stop hugging Bailey, crying and thanking God for the miracle. It was such a special moment for the patient and the nurse, and thousands of people have enjoyed watching it (and crying with happiness) over and over again.
According to the Chicago Defender, Bailey’s mom Becky posted the video on Facebook, and it quickly went viral.
“Our daughter, Bailey, had complete paralysis from the waist down for 11 days with no explanation as to why. This video is one of her favorite nurses coming onto her shift and not knowing that Bailey had started walking this day,” Becky captioned the post.
As previously reported by the Inquisitr, doctors still are not sure what caused Bailey’s paralysis. Up until Bailey could feel her legs, doctors were not sure that she would ever be able to walk again. It is unknown if Bailey is still undergoing tests or if she has been released from the hospital, but one thing is absolutely clear; this patient has made a friend for life.
