Zayn Malik Breaks Twitter Silence After Leaving 1D — Is Harry Styles The Next To Go?

Zayn Malik finally broke his silence on Twitter since leaving One Direction. The heartthrob took to the social networking site on Monday, April 20, to thank his fans for their continued support.

Malik tweeted: “Wanna say thanks to everyone that’s been there for me over the last few weeks, love you all … you know who you are x.”

Zayn’s tweet caused some confusion with fans who wanted to know who “X” was. Directioners thought that he was writing a cryptic tweet to someone. It’s obvious that the “X” means hugs, as in “hugs and kisses” or “xoxo.”

Malik then added: “The x is a kiss by the way ha it’s not a mystery … sorry to any confused.”

His tweet seems sweet to some fans, but others are speculating whether or not it was “shade” thrown at his bandmates. The Hollywood Life noted that some Directioners felt his tweet wasn’t directed towards them, but towards his new music producer Naughty Boy.

E! News noted that this is the first time the singer tweeted since leaving 1D in almost a month. Zayn also made his first public appearance at the 2015 Asia Awards in London, as previously reported by the Inquisitr. The singer accepted his awared for Outstanding Achievement in Music, where he thanked his 1D bandmates.

Malik also spoke out to the Sun since leaving the globally successful boyband. The Inquisitr previously reported that the singer is “doing alright” and has been spending most of his downtime at home. It’s also known that Malik has been in the recording studio working on his rumored solo album.

The cute Brit may not be the only who leaves One Direction. The director of the band’s documentary, One Direction: This Is Us, thinks Harry Styles will be the next to leave. Morgan Spurlock revealed to TMZ that he believes Harry is the next singer to leave the boy band for his own solo career.

This recent news has Directioners worried about the future of the boyband.

Morgan said, “I think at some point, Harry will probably leave. He’ll probably be the next.”

Hollywood Life believes the director’s words since he knows One Direction very well. He may know something that even hardcore fans don’t know. TMZ agrees and calls him an “expert” on the band. Spurlock mentioned his predictions for the remaining members of the boyband.

“I think they’ll stay together for a little while. I think that Niall, Louis, and, uh, I think the three of those guys are going to become like the new Bell Biv Devoe.”

Morgan did reveal that he was upset over Zayn’s split from 1D. He also believes it’s the beginning of the end, especially with Harry Styles leaving.

“I think all of those guys together are fantastic. They had something really special together.”
