Bruce Jenner Talks About Family In Diane Sawyer Special, Says: ‘They’re The Only Ones I’m Concerned With’

Everything and everybody is constantly changing in Hollywood. However, compared to others, there are some changes that are more highly-anticipated and religiously followed by many. This includes the gender transition of former Olympic gold medalist Bruce Jenner.

When a teaser of his two-hour interview with Diane Sawyer was released, people couldn’t help but speculate about Jenner’s controversial journey. Just recently, ABC released a 30-second long clip of the “exclusive” interview and it has gotten major attention.

The short clip starts off with a collection of old pictures that feature Jenner in all his Olympian glory. Photographs of him as an athlete were first shown and he was then described as an “Olympic hero.” He was also shown as a dedicated father through various footages. One of them showed footage of him biking with his children and another is a more recent one that features four of his oldest children. Burt (36), Casey (34), Brandon (33), and Brody (31) were reportedly present during the interview to show their support to their father. Next, Jenner’s picture with Kendall, Kylie, and the Kardashian sisters was also shown in the teaser.

In the next few scenes, Jenner is quoted when he said, “My whole life has been getting me ready for this.” Although there is no specific indication as to what the former Olympian was referring to, many are assuming that he is going to spill about his gender transformation.

Towards the end of the clip, a feminine-looking Jenner is shown talking about his family. He asserts, “They’re the only ones I’m concerned with. I can’t let myself hurt them.”

The clip then ends with a voice-over giving viewers the idea that the two-hour interview will be about Jenner’s journey, decisions and future. The Diane Sawyer special entitled Bruce Jenner: The Interview is slated to air on ABC on Friday, April 24.

Jenner initially gained popularity for his merits in the Olympics. In 1976, he won a gold medal in the decathlon held in Montreal. In Hollywood, he was famed for being the family patriarch in reality series Keeping Up with the Kardashians. Last February, Jenner made headlines when news broke out that he told his ex-wife Kris Jenner and the rest of his family about his decision to become a woman.

According to reports, Jenner’s family expressed their whole-hearted support.
