Justin Bieber Album & More: 10 Things We Learned From Scooter Braun’s Twitter Spree

If you’re a Justin Bieber fan eagerly awaiting news about the singer’s forthcoming album, Twitter was the place to be last night.

On Saturday evening, manager Scooter Braun took time out from daddy duties to conduct an #AskScooter session on Twitter. He shared reveals about his personal life and bout his roster which includes — Ariana Grande, Rixton, Tori Kelly, Martin Garrix — and, of course, Justin Bieber.

So what did we learn?

1: Ariana and Justin never finished their duet, but probably will at some point

Last May, the Biebs congratulated the singer on hitting No. 1 on iTunes with “Problem.” He then hinted at a duet between the pair and posted a snap of the two in a studio. In the end, the song they worked on wasn’t completed in time for the Baton Roca star’s My Everything album, which dropped last August.

But, according to Braun, hope for their on-record duet is not lost.

To another fan, he replied,

2: Ariana and Justin are considering the possibility of touring together

While some Bieber fans and probably some Ariana fans aren’t sold on the idea, it appears Justin’s recent Honeymoon Tour guest spot might be about testing audience reactions to seeing the two artists on the same stage.

3: Braun is just as desperate to hear the Biebs’ new music as fans

Responding to one fan in hilarious fashion, he tweeted the following.

During his recent On Air With Ryan Seacrest sit-down, Justin said “I’m not in a rush,” when asked for a release date for his new album.

The singer got really intense when he spoke about his new album. Explaining, “I just want to create the best piece of art that I can create — something that’s really near and dear to my heart.”

He then added, “I know that there’s a lot of stuff that I’ve been going through over the past few years. I just really want to bleed it on this record.”

Justin continued, “I want people to know that I’m not playing around. I’m not doing a record that’s cookie cutter or doing something that I think people want to hear.”

4: Justin Bieber’s new album = Heart

Asked for a one-word description to sum up the Biebs’ new music, Braun replied, “Heart.”

That tidbit won’t come as a surprise to fans. Justin previously revealed former girlfriend, Selena Gomez, is his muse.

Previously, the heartthrob admitted, “I think a lot of my inspiration comes from her.”

He added, “It was a long relationship that created heartbreak and created happiness and a lot of different emotions that I wanted to write about. There’s a lot of that on this album.”

5: Honest and partly unplugged

According to Braun, the Biebs’ new album will showcase deep and meaningful lyrics. The manager also said he hoped that there will be some acoustic songs in the set.

Braun added,

All of which echoes Justin’s previous hints about his new album. To Seacrest, the 21-year-old said the record will “be really musical” and would feature “a lot of real instrumentation” as well as “snippets” of EDM, following the continuing success of his Jack Ü collaboration, “Where Are Ü Now.”

6: “Where Are Ü Now” is getting a music video

Braun revealed that a music video for Skrillex, Diplo, and Justin’s dance collaboration will be shot later this month.

If you’re a fan and have been following “Where Are Ü Now’s” progress, you’ll know that a music video is the next step given the track’s climb on multiple charts and huge streaming numbers.

The song is currently No. 1 on Billboard’s Dance/Electronic Streaming Songs, and has hit the Top 50 on the Hot 100 chart after jumping 20 places from No. 64 last week to No. 42 this week.

On top of this significant rise on the Hot 100 chart, the Bieber-featuring song has impacted other charts. It is now No. 26 on Digital Songs and debuted at No. 40 on Streaming Songs.

On other dance-specific charts “Where” is No.4 on Hot Dance/Electronic Songs, and No. 2 on the Dance/Electronic Digital Songs chart.

Over on Australia’s Aria charts, the song is No. 2 on the Dance Singles Chart, No. 3 on the main Singles Chart, No.3 on the Streaming Tracks chart, and is now certified Gold. It will be sent to radio on April 21.

7: How about The Weeknd’s Abel Tesfaye and Kanye West as collaborations?

Braun didn’t confirm that either Abel or Kanye will feature on a song with Justin.

But he did sound more sure when he hinted that a Bieber song may feature West. It isn’t really a leap given that West is co-producing the Biebs’ album with Def Jam founder Rick Rubin.

8: Bieber will tour as soon as he delivers his album

The embattled singer has made no secret of the fact that he wants to go back on the road and perform. To hear Braun tell it, the only hold-up is the completion of the album.

9: Could a Zayn Malik-Justin Bieber duet be on the horizon?

One fan asked whether the former member of One Direction and Justin could team up? Would teenage hormonal levels be able to stand such a musical alliance?

One man who isn’t opposed to the idea is Braun.

10: Hair today, gone tomorrow?

Wrapping the reveals, this last has nothing to do with Justin’s new album, collaborations, videos, Kanye West, or tours, but something much more pressing — Justin Bieber’s hair.

One fan asked Braun if they could expect a culling of the singer’s locks at some point.

We’re fairly certain Scooter’s reply won’t have reassured them one bit.

Meanwhile, many fans appear to be in unanimous agreement with at least one of Braun’s replies.
