Scarlett Johansson Joins ‘Making of Psycho’

What could be better than the Gus Van Sant Psycho remake? Well, it could possibly be the behind the scenes drama currently underway Alfred Hitchcock and the Making of Psycho.

The behind the scenes drama will be directed by Sacha Gervasi (Anvil! The Story of Anvil), and now sources have confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter that Scarlett Johansson will be playing Janet Leigh, the actress behind the iconic shower scene in the original Psycho. The project has been in the works for the past four years and has finally gotten off the ground with Fox Searchlight attached.

None other than Sir Anthony Hopkins will be portraying Hithcock and Helen Mirren will be playing the filmmaker’s wife, Alma Reville. This particular project is based on the book by Stephen Rebello that documents the behind the scenes on goings.

The film’s plot is said to be a tale about Hitchcock making the film despite no investors wanting to touch it, and the relationship author Robello has with the director and his wife, Alma.

This isn’t the first new project Scarlett Johansson has in the works. She’s slated to star in Joseph Gordon-Levitt’s directorial debut, Iron Man 3 and Can A Song Save Your Life, the latter in which she’ll be portraying a singer songwriter.

Seems like Scarlett is striking while the iron is hot. Is there any role in particular you would like to see her in? Weigh in here!
