Jessica Lange to Return to American Horror Story

Well, American Horror Story fans, your prayer circle has been answered. Creators Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk confirmed with Entertainment Weekly exclusively that actress Jessica Lange will return to American Horror Story.

Lange, who won a SAG and Emmy for her role on the series as Constance Langdon has just signed a brand new deal with the series to stay on for the new season which will start airing mid-October. However, she won’t reprise her infamous bigoted role of Constance. Instead, the actress will be taking on a whole new role in the series.

For those of you who are fans, while this may seem a bit odd, it’s probably not too far fetched with the constant coming and going of characters. More importantly, for those who are fans of the actress you will have a lot to look forward to as Murphy revealed to Entertainment Weekly that the show will be revolved around her new character, at least for this season.

“We have designed the second season of American Horror Story completely around her character. Last year Jessica came in with Connie Britton and Dylan McDermott. This will really be the Jessica Lange show so I’m very excited about it. We are designing this amazing new opposite of the Constance character for her. She and I have spoken about different things. She has a lot of ideas, and has a lot of input into her character. She told me some things she has always wanted to play as an actress. She’s a great collaborator and a great friend,” said Murphy.

Three other cast members from last season will also be joining the show next season, but Murphy is keeping mum until Friday when the remaining cast participate at the PaleyFest Q&A on Friday.
