WWE News: Hulk Hogan Wants A World Title Match At Next Year’s WrestleMania

Since Hulk Hogan returned to WWE last year, he’s been wanting to get back into the ring and have at least one more match. Up until this point, WWE hasn’t allowed it, but the fact that Hogan was able to take a bump at this year’s WrestleMania has plenty of people thinking — including Hulk Hogan — that he can get back into the ring, and not embarrass himself.

As of right now, Hogan wants to be part of next year’s WrestleMania, which is expected to be the biggest WrestleMania of all-time, and with WWE looking to pull out all the stops next year in hopes to fill Dallas’ AT&T Stadium to maximum capacity, there’s a chance that they could call upon Hogan to add to the card’s drawing power.

Hogan did an interview with Sporting News, and in the interview he set his goal high, saying that he either wants to win the WWE World Heavyweight Championship next year, or have a retirement match. The most likely scenario of the two is the latter, of course.

“In my world and if you’re in my brain right now, I’m looking at WrestleMania next year at AT&T Stadium. I’m looking at the WWE breaking my indoor attendance record of 93,000-plus at the stadium where the Cowboys play. Put that ring in the middle of the field and load that football field up with people, you’re going to put over 100,000 in there. So in my mind, it would make sense to have a world title match, my next run start there or my retirement match happen there. If you’re in my brain you’re thinking oh my God, I better be ready just in case they let me do it.”

By the time next year’s WrestleMania rolls around, it’ll have been nearly five years since Hogan’s last match, which took place against Sting at TNA’s Bound For Glory. It does appear that Hogan is moving around a lot better these days, and he has said that when he looks back at the stuff he did near the end of his TNA run, he’s embarrassed, and that’s why he wants to have one last match in WWE, so he can leave with his head held high.

There’s no clear-cut opponent for Hogan. Some people will say Rusev, others will say “Stone Cold” Steve Austin, and of the two, the Rusev match is more likely to happen, as it’s uncertain that “Stone Cold” will even be interested in returning to the ring, and if he does, it’s unlikely that he’ll want a match with Hogan.
