LEGO Set Of ‘The Golden Girls’ May End Up Being A Real Thing Soon, But It Needs Your Help

LEGO sets are often something that recreate iconic locations in the world, historic moments in time, or pop culture from the last 50 years. Well, that last option is the latest LEGO idea that many hope will soon become a real thing. and it’s one that details the kitchen and living room of The Golden Girls.

That’s right, over on Ideas.Lego, there is a project that is gaining support in a hurry, and it’s not surprising either. If you’d like to pledge your support for “The Golden Girls Living Room and Kitchen Modular Set with Dorothy, Rose, Blanche, Sophia, and Stan,” then you can.

As of early Wednesday afternoon, there are over 4,700 supports and 343 days left to get The Golden Girls LEGO set into production. It was first put up on the site back on March 18, but it’s really just beginning to pick up steam.

On April 8, creator “lostsleep” said that if he could get to 5,000 votes, then the Lanai behind the Foyer would be added.

“This is a recreation of the Golden Girls House used in filming the popular 1980’s show that is still watched daily around the world. It is the Foyer, Living Room, and Kitchen built like a TV set, with one wall removed and a full view into the space. It comes with 5 minifigures including Dorothy, Rose, Sophia, Blanche, and Stanley. It has been meticulously recreated to have opening cupboards and fridge in the kitchen, Wicker Sofa and Chairs, a hallway backdrop, a storage closet in the kitchen, and an outdoor area with potted plants and a hose.”

As Vocativ reported, the LEGO idea for The Golden Girls set needs to hit 10,000 fans showing their support for its creation. From there, the set will then go through tests that measure its playability, safety, and how it fits into the LEGO brand.

If all goes well and it is approved for creation, then The Golden Girls will be frozen in LEGO time and the creator will get a share of the royalties of sales. Many fans are already thrilled at the idea of getting to recreate both the kitchen and living room.

This LEGO idea is really growing quickly as it begins to go viral, and it certainly appears to be on the right path toward being created. While it has the support, LEGO will have the final say on whether or not The Golden Girls get their own set. If they listen to the fans, they will create it and be thanked for being a friend.
