Angelina Jolie Left ‘Steamed’ By Mocking Oscar Comic
Angelina Jolie‘s dress seemed to generate an unhealthy amount of debate following Sunday’s Academy Awards.
Jolie’s stunning ankle-length Versace gown had a risque slit all the way up to her hip, and she seemed to work the ‘revealed leg stance’ and head toss when she went on stage to present the ‘Best Adapted Screenplay’ Oscar. This prompted some teasing from Oscar winner Jim Rash, who playfully mimicked Jolie’s stance as he stood a few feet from her (below), mockingly throwing his shaven head back and provocatively sticking a leg out.
A little harmless fun to Rash (and most viewers), but Jolie – who is normally quick to be self-deprecating – was not as impressed.
Once off stage, the actress reportedly snapped, “Who is that guy?” to a member of the backstage production staff. She was told that Rash is a veteran comic and co-star of the NBC sitcom Community who recently turned his hand to writing screenplays (pretty successfully, by all accounts). As one source noted:
“[Angelina] was still pretty steamed but seemed to calm down quickly.”
You can see Rash’s Jolie impersonation above – I think it’s pretty accurate. Alas, Angelina’s night wasn’t cheered up by husband Brad Pitt – he lost out on the Best Actor gong to Jean Dujardin, star of The Artist.
In other Oscar news, it looks like Jimmy Kimmel is the early favorite to take over presenting duties from Billy Crystal next year.
