It’s official! Jenna Bush Hager is pregnant and expecting her second child with husband Henry Hager. The Hagers revealed the news and got daughter Mila, who’s almost 2, involved in the announcement, too.
The family decided to release a home video of the announcement, with Mila giving a kiss to her “little sissy.” Jenna decided to share the home video on the Today show, which is a place she’s called home since 2009.
To celebrate the special announcement, Jenna Bush’s Today family including Matt Lauer, Savannah Guthrie, Tamron Hall, and Natalie Morales presented her with a bouquet.
In order to prepare for her new journey, Jenna will be taking leave from the Today show as their adventure correspondent. Natalie Morales, who usually tags along for Jenna Bush Hager’s Today show adventures, was apologized to. Hager jokingly apologized for not inviting Morales on board for her second pregnancy journey. “I thought you might want to come to the delivery room!,” said Hager.
Back in February Jenna Bush Hager told Fox News that motherhood is great but going very quickly.
“I can’t even believe it’s been almost two years. Life has definitely changed a lot. I took Mila to Texas last week to visit my parents, and she was up and down on the airplane the entire time and was constantly moving. But it also gets sweeter. She’s so funny, and her personality has totally emerged. She’s hilarious, she’s smart, she’s a nut, but life has definitely changed. You can’t do anything sporadically anymore.”
And as for maintaining a balance between career and motherhood, Jenna puts it all into perspective and said that women can’t have it all.
“I was nervous about the balance of all of it because I wanted to continue to work. My husband works, we live in New York City, but I found you can do it, you really can. You have to have a supportive husband and supportive friends and family, but women can seem to have – not all — but seem to have almost all that they want.”
Jenna’s colleagues extended their congratulations on Twitter as well.
