The Rolling Stones is continuing to show that time is on their side as the legendary English rock band announced the dates for their North America based “ZIP CODE” tour set to take place later this year, per USA Today.
This tour is coming off the heels of their huge tour in 2014, which spanned the globe as the band hit the stage in Asia, Europe, Australia, and New Zealand. As May 24, the first stop on this tour which will take place in San Diego draws near, Rolling Stones front man Mick Jagger is thrilled to once again hit the stage, as he told USA Today.
“We are looking forward to being back on stage and playing your favorite songs!”
Jagger isn’t the only one who is excited about coming back to North America for the bands scheduled 15-city tour. Stones’ guitarist Keith Richards spoke to U-T San Diego and proclaimed his excitement for the tour as well.
“We love being out on the road and it is great to come back to North America! I can’t wait to get back on the stage!”
It’s not a shock to hear that Richards is excited to hit the stage. He placed some lofty expectations on the band two years ago when he said that he wanted the Rolling Stones to continue performing for another 10 years. A successful tour of North America would increase the chances of that happening.
As mentioned, the first concert is scheduled to take place in San Diego at the home of Major League Baseball’s own San Diego Padres. That concert is also the only west coast stop for the Stones on this tour, therefore, demand for tickets to the event is expected to be overwhelmingly large.
