Derek Hough is a Dancing with the Stars veteran, which means he’s seen his share of dating rumors between the pros and the stars. This season there’s a rumored romance brewing between Shark Tank investor Robert Herjavec and pro Kym Johnson. It’s a union Hough supports if indeed the rumors are true. He made the comments to FOX 411 earlier this week.
“Man, I’m all for it if it’s true! Literally, when Kym describes a man she’s looking for, it’s him. I hear, ‘I need this guy, I need a guy like this, a guy like this,’ I’m like, ‘Yo, That’s him [Herjavec].’ All the power to them. I say yay.”
In a People interview published Monday, Herjavec said his chemistry with Johnson is real. The pair stopped short of saying they have a real-life romance away from the Dancing with the Stars ballroom.
“I don’t do anything for publicity. From the moment I met her, I love hanging out with her. We are having a great time.”
Herjavec told E! Online he does have one romance on the show — with judge Bruno Tonioli.
“I am dating Bruno [Tonioli]. I will admit it, I never realized he was that good looking in real life… He has a Ferrari, you know!”
Herjavec is a fan of sports cars and even revealed on his Dancing with the Stars blog for Entertainment Weekly that he’s started his season with the Ferrari North American Challenge racing series. This commitment comes even as he’s keeping up with his cyber security firm and trading moves with Johnson in the ballroom.
As for Derek Hough’s DWTS season, he’s paired with gymnast Nastia Liukin. Although Rumer Willis and Val Chmerkovskiy were in first place after week one, after week two it was Derek and Nastia’s turn to top the leaderboard. Hough revealed on his TV Guide blog that he coached Liukin by text message the weekend leading up to Monday’s performance night. Due to their busy schedules, with Hough performing on Broadway in New York and Liukin taking classes at NYU, they are often tight for time.
“I was nervous because I hadn’t seen her the whole weekend until Monday morning. If I hadn’t made my flight, I wouldn’t have gotten in until 10 a.m. Monday. I literally rushed to the airport and made the flight and got in at 2 a.m. We had rehearsal at 8 a.m. for two hours. We changed a few things and it was really down to the wire.”
Hough also expressed his regret that Redfoo was sent home on Monday night, calling him a “cool, nice guy.”
Despite the tight airline schedules, Hough and Liukin seem to be the ones to beat, at least at this point in the competition.
Dancing with the Stars airs Mondays on ABC.
