12-Year-Old Colorado Girl Tried To Poison Her Own Mother After She Took Away Her iPhone
In what has to be one of the most shocking stories you would possibly hear, a 12-year-old girl from Boulder County, Colorado, has been detained after it came to light that she had tried to kill her own mother — twice. The reason for her to take this extreme step? Her mother took away her iPhone after she saw that the girl was spending too much time with it.
According to ABC News, the girl whose identity will be kept under wraps due to her age, tried to kill her own mother by poisoning her drinks with bleach. The woman first fell sick on March 2 after she consumed a glass of smoothie. At that time, she noticed that there was a strong odor of bleach coming from the glass, but assumed that her daughter might have not rinsed it properly after a wash.
However, a few days later, on March 6, the mother noticed the same phenomenon happening. This time, she noticed the strong smell of bleach coming from a drink she was about to drink. Smelling something fishy, she confronted her daughter, who confessed that she was trying to kill her because she was mad at her for taking away her iPhone. The second time round, the girl had mixed significant amounts of bleach inside her mother’s water carafe, an official from the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office said.
On March 6, the poisoned mother visited the Boulder Community Hospital, where she contacted authorities and asked them to investigate the case. The woman managed to recover and is doing fine now.
Following the shocking admission by the 12-year-old girl, she was arrested by authorities, and on Friday, she was sent to the Boulder County Juvenile Center. She has been charged with two counts of attempted first-degree murder, a spokesperson for the Boulder County Sheriff’s office confirmed. According to Sgt. Bill Crist from the Sheriff’s office, the girl admitted having pre-planned to kill her mother a couple of times. She also confessed that she did all that because the woman had taken away her iPhone.
According to Yahoo! News, authorities are still investigating the case, and the District Attorney’s office will decide on the charges that the girl would face.
The Inquisitr previously reported about several cases of adults trying to kill their own loved ones by poisoning them. This one, however, is shocking because the culprit in this case is just a small kid.
