Liza Minnelli Rehab: Legendary Singer Enters Rehab For Substance Abuse [Breaking]

Liza Minnelli has checked herself into rehab to get help with substance abuse. According to TMZ, the legendary singer is getting treatment at a facility in Malibu where she is said to be making “excellent progress.” Sources say that Minnelli has been at the facility for “several days,” and that she’s been getting help with an alcohol addiction. This, of course, is not the first time that Minnelli has sought help for addiction.

According to People Magazine, a rep for the entertainer confirmed the news, but didn’t give away too many other details.

“Considering she’s doing so well, we expect that she’ll be released shortly,” said Scott Gorenstein.

Liza Minnelli has been to rehab for alcoholism in the past, which many believe stems from her watching her mother, Judy Garland, struggle with substance abuse over the years. Garland overdosed on sleeping pills and died in 1969.

Minnelli is still very active at age 69, and often preforms at venues around the country. Back in the fall of 2013, Minnelli insisted on performing, even though she had a broken wrist. As previously reported by the Inquisitr, she was slated to do a cancer benefit, but her doctor insisted that she sit out the cancer benefit. However, Liza knows better than anyone else, perhaps, that the show must go on.

Fans all over the world are hopeful that Liza will get the help that she needs, and that she will continue to perform, and to make people smile with her incredible talent.
