Philadelphia Eagles Rumors: Tim Tebow Won't Be Signed By Eagles After All

Philadelphia Eagles rumors about Tim Tebow had the NFL world buzzing on Monday (March 16). It turns out the Eagles will pass on signing Tebow, instead deciding to explore other quarterback options. While the team could certainly circle back to him at some point during the offseason, it appears that Sam Bradford is going to remain the primary option in Philadelphia. ESPN reported that the team worked him out, but won't be offering a contract.

It's clear that Tebow hasn't given up on playing in the NFL, and this might not be his last stop during the offseason. The last team he was with was the New England Patriots during the 2013 preseason, but the team released him before the regular season started. Since then, he has been working for ESPN. On Sunday (March 15), he shared a photo on Twitter, showing he is still working toward getting back to the league.

Head coach Chip Kelly has kept his team entrenched in sports headlines, and it seems that new Philadelphia Eagles rumors pop up each day. As previously reported on the Inquisitr, the team acquired quarterback Sam Bradford in exchange for quarterback Nick Foles, Philadelphia's fourth-round pick in 2015 and second-round pick in 2016. The Eagles receive St. Louis' fifth-round pick in 2015 as another part of the deal. Immediately, it was revealed by CBS Sports that Kelly was offered a first-round pick for Bradford, showing that there is interest around the league to acquire him.

This likely won't be the last time that Philadelphia Eagles rumors link the team to Tim Tebow. He ran the type of offense for Florida (in college) that could lead to him fitting well with a Chip Kelly team. This could be the reason that so many NFL analysts began discussing the potential signing. Tebow has many similarities to former Oregon quarterback Marcus Mariota, who Kelly coached for a number of years.

Earlier on March 16, the team took to Twitter to post about one of the other big offseason acquisitions.

It's clear the team is heading in a new direction for the 2015 NFL season, but that Chip Kelly and the front office isn't done adding pieces to the roster. As the NFL Draft approaches, fans should expect more Philadelphia Eagles rumors about what the team will be targeting. It's also likely that Tim Tebow is going to be mentioned again as well.
