Is Gisele Bundchen retiring?

According to Fox News and Entertainment Tonight, the 34-year-old supermodel will bring her lengthy career as a runway model to an end next month. Both sources credited the Brazilian newspaper Moda Estadao with breaking the news.

The report claims that Bundchen’s farewell catwalk will take place during Sao Paulo Fashion Week. The Colcci show on April 20 is allegedly the event that will feature Gisele’s final walk.

Even if her catwalk days are coming to an end, Gisele Bundchen is not walking away from her overall career as a model anytime soon. The Brazilian native still has modeling contracts with such top brands as Chanel and Under Armour.

Gisele Bundchen started her journey towards becoming a model back in the early 1990s. Her mother insisted that she take a modeling course alongside her sisters, Gabriela and Patricia. The Elite modeling agency discovered Gisele at a Sao Paulo shopping mall during a school trip the following year. It did not take very long before 14-year-old Gisele moved to Sao Paulo to officially begin her modeling career. The rest is history.

To say that Gisele Bundchen has had a successful career as a model would be a major understatement. Her estimated net worth currently is $320 million, according to Celebrity Net Worth.

She has even had a chance to show off her acting skills on the big screen in the 2003 film Taxi starring Jimmy Fallon and Queen Latifah as well as the 2006 Oscar-nominated film The Devil Wears Prada starring Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway.

Before Gisele started dating the man who would become her husband, Tom Brady, she was romantically linked to a few actors and athletes, such as Leonardo DiCaprio and Rico Mansur.

A blind date brought Gisele and Tom together in December of 2006. The couple got married in February of 2009. Gisele Bundchen gave birth to the couple’s first child, Benjamin, the same year. Nearly three years later, Gisele welcomed the couple’s daughter, Vivian, into the world.
