Lena Dunham Supports Kathy Griffin’s Decision To Leave ‘Fashion Police’: ‘Enough Is Enough’

Late last night, Kathy Griffin announced that after seven episodes, she was leaving Fashion Police. While many have different opinions about Griffin’s decision to cut her stay extremely short, Girls star Lena Dunham has celebrated the comedian’s decision.

Dunham broadcasted her thoughts on Kathy Griffin’s announcement that she’s leaving Fashion Police. Lena took to Instagram, posting a glamorous shot of Griffin wearing Mickey Mouse ears.

The caption that Dunham wrote fully supported her friend in her decision.

“Congrats to my beautiful friend Kathy Griffin for bravely saying enough is enough to intolerance of all kinds on television. She’s modeling a better way for the youths (and working those ears.)”

As the Inquisitr reported, Kathy Griffin made the shocking announcement to leave Fashion Police.

“I am a freedom-loving female and gay rights activist who loves to find the funny in all people, attitudes, beliefs, and appearances, but only when the context permits intelligent humor. I thought that I could bring my brand of humor to Fashion Police so that beautiful people in beautiful dresses could be teased when appropriate. My band of humor, while unrepentant and unafraid, is all about CONTEXT.”

She goes on to say that her brand of comedy simply doesn’t fit with Fashion Police. This move comes only days after Kelly Osbourne announced that she was leaving the show after years of being a co-host with the late Joan Rivers and Guliana Rancic.

Both of the departures from the Fashion Police are most likely due to the comments Guliana Rancic made on air about Zendaya Coleman’s appearance at the Oscars. During the special, Rancic said the Disney star’s dreadlocks looked like they smelled of “patchouli and weed.”

After everyone caught wind of the racial comments, Osbourne defended herself on Twitter and showed solidarity to her friend Zendaya, saying that she would seriously consider leaving the Fashion Police until this situation was made right again.

Unfortunately, Rancic’s on-air apology wasn’t enough, and Kelly left the show after five years. Osbourne took to Twitter once again to express her feelings about Griffin’s departure from Fashion Police.
