Woman Who Ran Off With Partner’s Stepdad Gave Birth To Boyfriend’s Baby

A woman who ran off with her boyfriend’s stepfather more than four years ago discovered through DNA testing that the baby actually belongs to her ex and not to his stepdad.

After Rachel Delaney left her boyfriend Ashley Mercer for his stepfather Stan Crowther, who is more than 20 years older than her, and set up home with him, she assumed the baby was his.

Nevertheless, a DNA test carried out recently confirmed that the baby girl, living in Chorley, Lancashire, belonged to Ashley, a fact he is absolutely thrilled about.

Ashley’s mother Mandy, who was ruined by the affair, has since forgiven Stan and has herself found love with her new partner, Andy Barker. As Mandy told reporters.

“It’s been a roller coaster few years. It might sound funny, but I’m happier now than I’ve ever been before. I have forgiven Stan. We’re friends again. And my son has moved on with his life too and has a new daughter to be proud of.”

Ashley also spoke to reporters about the revelation that he is the father of the child, saying, “I feel very bitter towards Stan. I trusted him, I used to call him dad and I can’t forgive him like my mum has. I’m buzzing to find out I am the baby’s dad – and Stan isn’t.”

For his part, Ashley has also had no shortage of women in his life, as he has five kids with five different women, including one with his ex’s sister, Kelly.

Mandy shared with reporters what happened when she discovered that her husband Stan was having an affair with her son’s girlfriend.

Having found questionable text messages on Stan’s phone she said, “The account was in my name and I checked her bill and Stan’s. Stan was sending loads of texts. I spoke to Stan and he became very defensive and shifty and I knew, instantly, there was something going on.”

Nevertheless, when it came out that Stan was having the affair, Mandy continued, “Ashley was gutted. He hadn’t wanted to believe it. He stopped eating and he started drinking heavily. He’d had a stammer as a kid, but it came back much worse. I was really worried about him. I was furious that Stan had betrayed me. But it hurt even more that he had betrayed Ashley.”

Then, when Rachel announced she was pregnant, Mandy added, “At first she said it was Ashley’s baby, then she said it was Stan’s. It was disgusting. Poor Ashley was totally up the wall.”

Now that the truth has come out, it seems to be a case of poetic justice as Ashley gets his own back on his ex-stepfather by being the father of the child of his now-wife.
