Play ‘Dragon: Age Inquisition’ For Free This Week Only On Xbox One While BioWare Works On DLC

Gamers that have been on the fence about trying out Dragon Age: Inquisition can now try newest entry of BioWare’s role-playing franchise out for free, assuming that they have an active Xbox Live subscription and own an Xbox One. Microsoft’s official Xbox Twitter account announced today that a free trial for Dragon Age: Inquisition is currently being offered on their current-gen platform to all Xbox Gold members from now through Monday, March 16.

The free trial of Dragon Age: Inquisition is only available on Xbox One. No similar offer can currently be found on PlayStation consoles, PC, or even the Xbox 360, despite the fact that Microsoft has clearly partnered with Electronic Arts and BioWare for the Xbox One free trial.

Additionally, if Xbox One owners decide they like Dragon Age: Inquisition during the free trial, they can then pick up the game at a discounted price for a limited time, since BioWare’s new fantasy title is also one of this week’s “Deals with Gold” selections. Microsoft’s Major Nelson revealed this week’s sales titles for Xbox Live members, which includes Dragon Age: Inquisition and the Dragon Age: Inquisition: Deluxe Edition for 40 percent off.

Other savings for this week’s Xbox One sale provide gamers with discounts on Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition, Murdered: Soul Suspect, Ryse: Legendary Edition, and DLC season pass for Sunset Overdrive. Meanwhile, fans of Ubisoft’s popular franchise can also find some good deals on Xbox one as Assassin’s Creed III, Assassin’s Creed Revelations, and the original Assassin’s Creed game are all currently on sale on the last-gen console.

Microsoft has offered new weekly discounts on select titles to Xbox Live Gold members for a long time. Providing free trials for recent releases like Dragon Age: Inquisition, however, is a new development. Exact details on the trial were also not provided, such as whether there is a time limit attached.

The Xbox One trial for Dragon Age: Inquisition comes while BioWare has confirmed once again that they have started development of the game’s first DLC, as recently reported by the Inquisitr. After being asked what the DLC might contain, Dragon Age: Inquisition creative director Mike Laidlaw revealed to fans that there is nothing official to announce at this time but did confirm that he will provide details on the add-on as soon as he is able.

Dragon Age: Inquisition is now available on Xbox One, PS4, PC, Xbox 360, and PS3. However, fans can only partake of this week’s free trial on the game’s Xbox One versions.
