‘Teen Mom’ Jenelle Evans & Nathan Griffith Were Working On Their Relationship Prior To Alleged Assault

Teen Mom Jenelle Evans and her fiance, Nathan Griffith, were reportedly in couples therapy prior to his assault arrest.

On March 4, as reported by the Inquisitr, Griffith was arrested after allegedly assaulting his fiancee, Teen Mom Evans, at their South Carolina home. According to the arrest report, Evans had returned to the home to retrieve her belongings for school went she and Griffith began feuding.

“[Evans] went to the master bathroom and was sitting on the toilet when [Griffith] came [into] the bathroom and pinned her against the toilet… [and] wrestled her for the engagement ring.”

While reports last week claimed the Teen Mom couple feuded over Griffith’s alleged cheating, a new report states otherwise.

On March 9, a source told Radar Online that the Teen Mom couple had been “working on” their relationship before last Wednesday’s assault.

Although reports alleged the couple broke up days prior to the altercation, and that the Teen Mom was staying in a hotel, Radar’s source said they did not split. They were “working on their relationship, that’s all.”

A second source confirmed the Teen Mom pair had been “going to couples counseling and taking space from each other.”

According to the source, the Teen Mom couple was attempting to grow individually in order to better their relationship. However, their seemingly well thought out plan backfired, when they engaged in a heated debate.

“Jenelle has been spending her days at school or with her kids. Meanwhile, Nathan has been doing his own thing during the day.”

As opposed to the distance between them allowing them to be better together, it appeared to further strain their relationship. But while the Teen Mom has often been seen struggling with substance abuse, the source claimed she was completely sober during their latest fight.

“Jenelle has a drug test coming up next week for school and she’s sober as sober can be.”

Apparently, the Teen Mom is required to submit a drug test as part of her externship, which will show future employers she is clean of drugs.

For now, Evans and Griffith appear to be broken up, and according to the source, there doesn’t appear to be much hope for a reconciliation.

“Nathan is f***ing crazy. He loses his mind over every little thing that Jenelle does.”

That said, Evans is known for her dramatic relationships, so at this point, anything could happen.

Teen Mom 2 Season 6 is currently in production and will likely premiere sometime later this year.
