Katy Perry took to the Twittersphere recently after hearing 18-year-old Aurora Aksnes sing. She said the music makes her heart “a-flutter” and called her an “angel.”
The young Norwegian singer who goes by the stage name Aurora hails from Os, near Bergen in Norway. When Perry heard the young girl sing her latest single “Runaway” she just had to share the news with her 66.4 million followers on Twitter. While she mentions a “17 yr old angel,” Aurora actually turned 18 last year.

Aurora was almost unknown a year ago, but since then, her music has been played at festivals, in front of Norwegian Queen Sonja and on the radio for countless listeners to hear in both Norway and overseas.
According to the Local, the talented young singer now having her name dropped by Katy Perry, 30, is a great boost indeed. Perry herself became the most-downloaded artist last year with 70 million digital singles sold. It is hoped that something similar will happen to Aurora. Aurora’s song, “Runaway” can be heard in the video below.
Aurora told NRK, that she suffers performance anxiety. She said it is very scary performing in front of people, but that she hopes to make a good album after a lot of work and pressure.

According to her own Twitter feed, Aurora is still amazed when so many people come to watch her sing.
Aurora’s family agreed after she won at the Hove Festival last year that she should quit school to pursue a music career. They could see that just five months into beginning her singing career she had too much on her hands, juggling both music and her schooling.
Aurora says she never goes into anything half-heartedly and is going into her music with “a whole heart.” She says she knows what she wants and will keep going for it.
Judging by the song “Runaway,” this young lady has a great career ahead of her and already has a recording contract with Decca Records and festival gigs coming up.
Speaking Katy Perry, the Inquisitr notes that the popular singer has just achieved a chart milestone.
