Megaupload Founder Claims Police Brutality During Arrest

Dotcom claims that during the January 19 raid on his home police entered the premise and were “quite aggressive” towards him, punching him in the face, kicking him and then stepping on his hands when he was down.

Police shot back at those claims, pointing out that they had to force their way into his home, then force their way into his safe room where he refused to show his hands when ordered to do so. Police also point out that illegal weapons were immediately noticed inside the room in plain sight.

Following his arrest Kim Dotcom was charged with racketeering, conspiring to commit copyright infringement, conspiring to commit money laundering and criminal copyright infringement

The Megaupload founder has been attempting to receive a bail offering however the courts have seen him to be a severe flight risk despite all of his accounts being froze by US authorities.
