The pressure to look flawless, along with body image struggles and personal insecurities, has become increasingly widespread today. One troubling aspect is that many teenagers are drawn to these practices, which in some cases have even resulted in loss of life. A similar unfortunate incident has been reported in which a 19-year-old man died on May 27, 2026, following reported complications from a cosmetic procedure.

According to CBS News, the parents of the teen identified as Endrys Elian Martinez have come out publicly demanding justice for their son. While speaking with the publication, the family revealed that they migrated from Venezuela to the United States to give him a safer future away from violence in their home country. His father, Endrys Martinez, got emotional about his son’s demise and said, “I just want justice for my son. That’s what I want.”

The publication cited Coral Gables-based law firm Silva and Silva, confirming that the 19-year-old passed away on Tuesday after suffering complications linked to anesthesia before a rhinoplasty procedure at Svelta Plastic Surgery. He was declared brain dead on Monday before ultimately being pronounced dead the following day, on Tuesday.

The victim’s family attorney, George Silva, alleged that Martinez suffered a medical emergency after the anesthesia was administered. “In addition to being anesthesia-related, it’s the failure because of the inability to understand how to treat and address those complications,” he said.

The 19-year-old’s parents told the outlet that they traveled from Tennessee to Miami specifically for the procedure after learning about the clinic through social media. His mother, Iblin Martinez, stated that an influencer had advertised the business when it operated under the name of Seduction Cosmetic Surgery.

“An influencer talked about Seduction Clinic. That’s why we were surprised when we arrived, and it was called Svelta,” she said in Spanish.

Attorney Silva also confirmed that the clinic had changed its name earlier this year from Seduction Cosmetic Surgery to Svelta Plastic Surgery. He noted that plastic surgery centers have become a “business” and it is all about “marketing.”

The grieving family also alleged that the clinic failed to give any explanation in the matter. When they were asked about the information shared by the clinic, the disappointed family replied, “Nothing. Nothing.” The teen’s father claimed that when he returned to the clinic seeking answers and documentation, he was denied the paperwork.

“I asked for all the paperwork about my son, and a woman told me no, that she could not give me that, and they had to speak to the attorney.” The outlet said it reached out to the clinic but received no response. Meanwhile, the family said they have been coping with their son’s loss by watching his videos, laughing, and playing.

Another CBS News report suggests that the teen’s family has already initiated legal action against the clinic.

In another shocking incident, the media outlet suggests that Kenly Millan Aponte, 35, who had traveled from Kentucky for a “mommy makeover,” also reportedly died on April 29, 2026, after suffering complications during surgery.
