Happy Birthday, Bobbi Kristina — Family Gathers At Bedside
Happy Birthday, Bobbi Kristina. The daughter of famous, and infamous, duo Bobby Brown and Whitney Houston turns 22 today. Though the Brown and Houston families hoped that Bobbi Kristina would be free from the coma and headed toward recovery by this day, sadly, she remains unconscious. An attempt to ease Bobbi Kristina out of the coma last week resulted in a rash of severe seizures. This is a good news/bad news scenario, in that it is unfortunate she is not quite ready to return to a conscious state, but the fact that her body was seizing means she is not brain dead. The Epilepsy Foundation defines seizures as a disturbance in the electrical activity of the brain.
“Seizures seen in epilepsy are caused by disturbances in the electrical activity of the brain. The seizures in epilepsy may be related to a brain injury or a family tendency, but most of the time the cause is unknown …”
Both sides of family are coming together to be with Bobbi Kristina today. As reported by International Business Times, the Whitney Houston estate has released a statement on the late singer’s webpage with a call to pray for Pray For Bobbi Kristina. This is the first message released by the estate, run by Patricia Houston, since third anniversary of Whitney’s death last month.
“Today is Bobbi Kristina’s 22nd birthday and we ask you to continue to keep her in your prayers as she is still fighting the battle of her life.”
Twitter is abuzz with prayer and birthday wishes for Bobbi Kristina, not to mention some serious tweets from boyfriend Nick Gordon, who claims he wants to be by her side. If that were really true, however, he could meet the seemingly reasonable demands of Bobby Brown and gain access to the bedside of his critically ill girlfriend. E! Online quotes Bobby Brown’s lawyer on the matter.
“Due to Mr. Gordon’s failure to place in tangible form his understanding of the events that lead to the hospitalization of Bobbi Kristina, there is no reason for any additional discussion with him.”

The Brown and Houston family members are gathering around the bedside of Bobbi Kristina today in a type of birthday party. The best thing we can all give Bobbi Kristina Brown on her birthday is the gift of prayer.
