Tamra Barney Speaks Out About Her Ex-Husband Winning Full Custody Of Their Teenage Daughter

Tamra Barney may not be happy with her current custody situation, but according to a new post on Facebook, the Real Housewives of Orange County star feels she did what was best for her daughter.

As the Inquisitr previously reported, Tamra Barney gave up custody of her oldest daughter, Sidney, to her ex-husband, Simon, during a recent hearing.

Last month, Radar Online claimed Tamra Barney settled her custody dispute with Simon, giving him full custody of their 16-year-old daughter, who would live with him full-time from then on.

Tamra Barney has visitation with Sidney every other weekend, as well as one weekday each week from 4 to 7 p.m. Tamra Barney was also ordered to continue attending reunification therapy with Sidney in hopes of bettering their relationship.

Days later, on March 1, Radar Online reported that Tamra Barney addressed her custody issue on Facebook.

“My family means everything to me and NO it is not perfect all the time. Sometimes you have to make the hardest decision in your life to make someone you love happy.”

On February 28, Tamra Barney spoke to All Things Real Housewives about the issue.

“Simon and I came to terms outside of court. We both want what’s best for our daughter, her happiness is what matters most. Sidney’s wish was to have her main residence at her dad’s. She is 16 and can chose where she wants to live. There was no loss in court for me, the judge threw out the original case.”

“We are all in a good place and continue to work on family. I have never told my daughter that she was not welcomed in my house due to her relationship with her father, flat out lie! I encourage my kids to love both their parents. Custody of our other kids still remain the same 50/50.”

Following her divorce from Simon, Tamra Barney began dating Eddie Judge. Years later, after becoming engaged on The Real Housewives of Orange County, the couple wed in a made-for-TV wedding, which aired as a three-part special on Bravo. Tamra’s OC Wedding aired on September 2013 and also included Barney’s co-stars, Vicki Gunvalson and Heather Dubrow.

For the last several weeks, Tamra Barney and the cast of The Real Housewives of Orange County, including Gunvalson, Dubrow, Shannon Beador, Lizzie Rovsek, Katie Hamilton, and Megan King Edmonds, have been filming Season 10. The series is expected to return to Bravo later this year.
