Amanda Bynes: The Troubles She’s Faced And Her Effort To Get Her Life Together

In recent years, actress Amanda Bynes has been in the news for all the wrong reasons. She’s been in and out of the psychiatric ward, she has been charged with DUI and drug charges in the past, and she has been known for going on Twitter tirades. A few months back, Bynes famously went on a tirade accusing her father of abuse and revealing that she’s been planning on killing her parents. She was placed on a psychiatric hold after she made the accusations, and right now sources claim that she is doing much better.

“Amanda is doing much better from where she was months ago,” a family source told ABC News. “She has her own apartment and is much happier. She and her parents are getting along and Amanda is clear-headed, more focused and has more independence.”

Bynes was hospitalized in October of last year after her family expressed concern over her mental health. Her parents have conservatorship over her finances and medical care, and it was reported that the court extended the conservatorship until her next court appearance. Her parents filed court documents in July of 2013 after Bynes started showing signs of schizophrenia and bi-polar disorder.

On February 24, Bynes’ family lawyer told the press that she is definitely improving. “Amanda is doing well,” lawyer David Esquibias told reporters after he attended a closed discussion in the judge’s chambers in Ventura County, California. “I am glad the arrangement is continuing. The legal process is working in Amanda’s favor.”

Some of Bynes’ recent erratic behaviors include shoplifting, scratching a woman inside a nightclub and being kicked out of John F Kennedy Airport. These events were allegedly the result of being released early from a psychiatric facility back in October. Bynes was able to avoid jail time by getting admitted to mandatory inpatient treatment, but ultimately sentenced three years’ probation and a $1,400 fine in May 2013.

On February 1, Bynes was seen in public for the first time and looked to be in good spirits. She’s also been seen spending more time with her parents and has even returned to social media which proved to be troublesome for her in the past.

It has been revealed that the Los Angeles City Attorney’s Office opted not to press charges regarding Bynes’ September 2014 arrest for driving under the influences.

Known for her work with Nickelodeon when she was still a child, Amanda Bynes was last seen in the 2010 comedy Easy A.
