Both teams have already tasted defeat in this World Cup, and they are looking to avoid another early loss.

CricBuzz is reporting that South Africa has had a recent series win over West Indies, and it's done a lot to boost their confidence. Faf du Plessis said the team will draw from that good showing for the Cricket World Cup match.
"Whatever we did against them in South Africa means absolutely nothing... What we can do is draw confidence from that series win at home. From their perspective, they lost to us quite badly. But, we have to be on top of our game on Friday and if we are not, they are the kind of team that will beat you on that day."South Africa was dealt a blow, though, as fast bowler Vernon Philander was ruled out for the match against West Indies, per ESPN Cric Info. He's also doubtful against Ireland next week after being diagnosed with a Grade 1 hamstring strain.
