McDonald’s Racist Attack: Woman’s Hair Set On Fire As She Waited For Friends
A police investigation has begun after a woman’s hair was set on fire at a McDonald’s restaurant in Canterbury in the UK.
The motive behind the attack was allegedly racial, as a man approached the woman and set her hair on fire while she waited for friends in the early hours of Friday morning.
To make the attack even worse, the man’s friend allegedly recorded the whole thing on his mobile phone, while laughing.
A close friend of the victim said the incident was racial, and she posted the following message on her Facebook page.
“To the disgusting person in McDonalds tonight who set my friends hair on fire simply because she is not white. You are disgusting and a disgrace to the human race, she did absolutely nothing to you as she was simply waiting around for myself and others who were waiting for food. The fact you targeted her is disgusting, and that you left like a wimp without owning up to your criminal act makes you even more despicable. We have reported you to the police and we appeal to any one who was there this evening to come forth with their reports/evidence. I cannot believe that in this day and age there are still people who are as racially discriminative and backwards thinking as you.”
A spokesperson for McDonald’s in the UK released a statement saying, “We are aware of the incident and are cooperating with the police in their inquiries.”
An eyewitness who was at the restaurant at the time the attack happened also took to Facebook to share her views.
Alicia Carter wrote, “Poor girl. I was working and tried to get her Facebook to keep her updated as to what McDonald’s were doing with it. Such a f****** vile human being. Promise I’ll do all I can to find the culprit and get justice however she wishes it to be!”
