Boston Mayor Warns Residents Not To Jump Out Of Their Windows During ‘Boston Blizzard Challenge’

Boston Mayor Martin Walsh is warning residents not to jump out of windows onto to massive piles of snow below. The city has struggled for weeks with the 96 inches of snow which fell from the sky. Adventurous Boston residents have taken to creating hilarious videos of themselves jumping out of second and third story windows onto the white fluffy stuff piled below – but the mayor is concerned that the snow stunts will turn deadly.

“This isn’t Loon Mountain. This is the city of Boston,” Mayor Martin Walsh said during a press conference. It’s a foolish thing to do. And you could kill yourself. So I’m asking people to stop the nonsense. The last thing we want to do is have to report to an emergency call where somebody jumped out the window because they thought it was funny.”

The Boston mayor’s warning not to jump out of windows into the snowbanks was uttered after yet another storm and arctic blast hit earlier this week. Boston, like much of the country, has been hit with sub-zero temperatures.

The jumping out of the window into the snow videos are being uploaded with the hashtag #BostonBlizzardChallenge. The snow stunt videos includes images of adults doing cannonballs, diving, flipping and jumping into the deep snow piles in Boston.
